4 of us, Ruyu, Anton, Bram and myself (Raymond) went to Esplanade to support Haadi's performace, with the TAS people.

Overall, the performance was great, when high standards from Haadi's group and

"Nanu" ,wowed the crowds.

FIRSTLY! Congratulations to the following seniors on being nominated for the FLAME awards!

They are namely : Xiang Ting, Xin Yi and Anton. They have done a lot for us and really deserve this award. without them, Rhapsody in Concert and so on and so forth would not be possible. Of course, not forgetting our wonderful advisors, Adrian and Kelly.

Woodlands CCC Lantern Festival Performance 13th Sept & Training Resume!

Elementa is invited to perform @ Woodlands CCC Lantern Festival on 13 Sept.

We almost decline this but accepted as Zaini believes that Elementa is performance ready for the 2 songs for competition.

So people do look out for that. I believe it will be a great performance put up.

Camp Details!

Below is the schedule!

**Note for ALL MEMBERS!

There is 3 hours of rehearsal time allocated for all 3 days, 10am to 1pm. Even if you cannot attend the camp, all members are to at least attend the rehearsal. You can only be excuse if you are overseas. Rehearsal will be preparation for our upcoming Concert.
Also, for those who are coming but not staying overnight in school. You are to stayed til the end of all activities of each day before you can leave. Thanks.

I will be sending more information thru webmail asap. There would be a indemnity form for all camper to print and let parents sign. So do do so and bring on actual day.

Please check your emails tmr so as to know more information like what to bring etc.

National A Cappella Championships 2007

Republic Rhapsody took part in the 2007 National A Cappella Championships held on July 26, 2007. We were represented by two teams, namely F.O.S and Consonance.

F.O.S stands for “Free Over Singing”. The reason behind that name is because they feel liberated whenever they are singing, be it in the shower or when they are singing together as a group. Their repertoire for the competition include: I Get Around by The Beach Boys, Something I Don’t Know by Ball in the House and More Than Words by Westlife. Members of F.O.S are:

Law Cindy (Soprano)
Beverly Lim (Soprano)
Fanny Chong (Alto)
Koh Xiang Ting (Alto)
Ronny Chong (Tenor)
Jordan Tan (Tenor & Baritone)
Willie Lyou (Bass)
Goh Jun Hong (Vocal Percussion)

Consonance consists of students from all 3 years of study of RP students. As each unique voice placed together as one, it produces the most magical tone, hence they call themselves Consonance. Their repertoire for the competition include: Lean on Me by Bill Withers, Truly Madly Deeply by Savage Garden and It’s You.
The members are:

Janice Ong (Soprano)
Chua Yi Wen (Soprano)
See Ruyu (Alto)
Toh Xinyi (Alto)
Samuel (Tenor)
Anton (Baritone)
Lemuel (Bass)
Jun Hong (Vocal Percussion)

Both teams worked very hard in preparation towards the Nationals. They went on stage prepared but nervous because they were worried that they might not have performed well. We did not want to let the school nor ourselves down. It turned out that both teams did quite well in the competition.

Out of six teams in the College Category, Consonance was placed fourth and F.O.S was one of the two teams that made the Finals. F.O.S continued to work hard and went for the Finals on 30th July 2007 where they emerged in second place against their competitors.

In conclusion, Republic Rhapsody feels proud of the achievement that they have achieved in this year's championships, also considering the fact that we merely got a consolation prize in the championships in 2006. Over the past year, Republic Rhapsody had learnt how to overcome every problem together as a group so that everyone can experience joyful and tremendous experience in the future. Wishing Republic Rhapsody all the best in the future!
